Today, we experienced our first Cranbury Day. I’ve told you that Cranbury is one of the cutest towns in New Jersey. We’re not the only ones to think so. Check out these links:

Classic Car

Every September, Cranbury holds a festival on Main Street that has live music, food, booths, helicopter rides, and antique cars. Apparently, this began as a sidewalk sale in the 1970s. They have a 5K run too, but I chose not to participate. Maybe next year. The blocked off area started right at our house. Two doors down was a stage with live music and the classic cars were parked right out front. Doesn’t this car from 1927 look like it belongs?

We walked the street and talked to lots of friendly people including the Cranbury Woman’s Club and the Cranbury Historical and Preservation Society. We bought tickets for the Historic Cranbury House Tour on September 23. We’re looking forward to seeing the inside of some of these beautiful homes and buildings. In fact, several people have been recruiting us for the next Tour in two years.

Then we sat on our porch and watched the action while we ate breakfast and had a mimosa. People stopped by to talk about the house. As they drove by, someone yelled out “Good luck with the house!”  (We get a lot of those.)

We bought two yellow rubber duckies for the 6th Annual Rubber Duck Race.  I’m guessing that most of you don’t know what that is. The Lion’s Club sells tickets for rubber duckies and then they race them in Lake Brainerd. If you have the winning duck, you win a prize! I think our duck got caught in the scrum, but it didn’t matter. It was just nice to be a part of the fun.

Now, don’t you want to be here next year, for Cranbury Day? Make your plans now! By that time, we should even have room for guests.
